From Concept to Completion: The Full Lifecycle of a Landscape Design/Build Project
In this one-hour session, attendees will be guided through the complete life cycle of the design-build process—from initial client engagement to final construction management. Drawing on more than three and a half decades of experience, this presentation explores how thoughtful collaboration, careful site analysis and programming, inspired concept design, and disciplined execution come together to create truly one-of-a-kind gardens.
The session begins with establishing meaningful client relationships and understanding vision and intent, then moves through site analysis and programming as the foundation for strong design decisions. From there, attendees will gain insight into concept development and the realities of managing construction while maintaining design integrity.
Throughout the presentation, lessons learned over a lifetime dedicated to creating unique outdoor spaces will be shared with honesty and gratitude. The goal is not only to explain the process, but to elevate understanding—offering practical insights, real-world experiences, and thoughtful reflections that attendees can apply to their own work.
This session is designed to inform, inspire, and encourage designers, builders, and creatives at every stage of their journey.
