DeVore’s Land and Water Gardens

John DeVore is a designer, garden builder/project manager, teacher, and writer.  He and his wife Nancy live on a farm near Cincinnati, OH.

He has applied his love of nature and people to the art and science of landscape design and garden building since 1979 when he established DeVore’s Land & Water Gardens.

Taking a holistic view of life, he has pursued not only excellence in design and craftsmanship, but also the philosophical/psychological/sociological dynamics of human connections of individuals with nature and one another.

John has been active in the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, North American Japanese Garden Association, The Stone Foundation, National Association of Pond Professionals, and more.

He was the founding U.S. partner of Robin Templar William’s Garden Design School USA and is a regular contributor to Sukiya Living magazine.

John offers training in design, stone and water feature construction, Japanese rock aesthetics, and naturalistic plant integration across the U.S. and Canada.
