Pete Sole has been part of the battery powered commercial sector of the industry since the early days nearly a decade ago. Throughout this time he has become an expert at successful implementation of electric equipment with contractors, and more importantly how those contractors can capitalize on their use of quieter, lower cost of operation and greener battery powered equipment to open opportunities for their businesses.

Pete has enjoyed collaboration with Mean Green Mowers, AGZA, as well as many prominent landscape contractors, property management firms and universities throughout his career.

He is currently a District Sales Manager at NDS, and is a graduate of Kent State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Criminology and Sociology.

This course seeks to help the attendee understand pre and post emergent herbicides and how they can be used in conjunction to build an effective and efficient program that leads to clean well maintained landscape beds. The program starts with identifying the common enemy of weeds talking about categories and lifecycles and why it is important to know key features about weeds.

The discussion will shift to different methods of herbicide application, common features of products, specific differences, and focus on safety of bedding plants. Our final section will discuss Calibration and the importance in regard to resources that calibration really plays. Key products discussed – Prodiamine, Dithiopyr, Pendemethalin, Indaziflam, Flumioxazin, Glyphosate, Freehand, Sureguard, Crew, Snapshot, 2,4D and others.

Chester Vandenberg is a Territory Manager with Corteva Agriscience covering the Midwest region. He has worked extensively in the Turf & Ornamental field over the past 10 years, spending some time in Florida, where he got his start with Dow Agrosciences. Beginning as a Trainee, Chester spent his first year focused on the GHN market with the launch of XXpire insecticide.

Learning the Nursery and Greenhouse space, he developed a passion for the green industry, and continues to be involved in local and state organizations and chapters along with being a local consultant for products and problems alike.
