Dealing with Drought: Helping Landscape Plants Cope with Water Stress

Join Dr. Bert Cregg, Professor of Horticulture and Forestry at MSU, as he takes an in-depth look at plant water relations and the impacts of water stress on landscape plants.   Dr. Cregg will discuss how soil and other environmental factors influence plant stress and steps that landscapers and arborists can take to reduce the impact of drought on trees and shrubs.  The presentation will also examine why some plants are better able to tolerate drought than others and present tree selections for droughty sites.

Dr. Bert Cregg is a Professor of Horticulture and Forestry at Michigan State University. He holds a doctorate in Tree Physiology from the Warnell School of Forest Resources at the University of Georgia.  Dr. Cregg conducts research on physiology of landscape trees and is a frequent speaker at professional landscape and nursery conferences and has published over 65 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
