Nursery and greenhouse growers will soon be given a new choice for certification of their plant material. This opportunity is called SANC, or “Systems Approach for Nursery Certification.” SANC is a voluntary, audit-based nursery certification program, which focuses on how plants are produced rather than how those plants look at the time of a single inspection. By recognizing each production facility is unique, SANC can be tailored to different types of nurseries and greenhouses. MDARD will give an overview of the SANC program, update you on the pilot program, and tell you what you need to know to participate.
