Green Ordinances and Municipal Landscape Codes - GGOL-AB
Green ordinances and municipal landscape codes are examples of a community’s commitment to protect, preserve or promote environmental quality and a healthy community atmosphere. In today’s terms it may also refer to green infrastructure in both the natural and the built environments. We will examine current landscape ordinances, woodland preservation policies, and weed laws; identify discrepancies; and suggest updated or new language that allows responsible landscape practice while infusing sustainability, green building and sound science into a new generation of public policies.
